![]() ![]() ![]() I guess it helps me to have a story in place instead of a bunch of facts. I've realized over the years that I like to use historical fiction, whether that's books or movies, as a base before I start watching documentaries or, less often, reading non-fiction titles on the same events. I know the broad strokes of history but there's so much I don't know and novels like Harmel's teach me a few things I hadn't heard of before. In part that's because there are a lot of those kinds of books out there but it's also because it's a time period that really intrigues me. ![]() I read a lot of historical fiction and a lot of it tends to take place during or between the World Wars. ![]()
